Located in a charming village, this hotel offers wonderful views of the Rioja countryside. the rooms are beautifully decorated and flooded with sunlight. Situated in front of the church, you can enjoy a nice drink at one of the pubs on the plaza. the staff provides excellent service, and the breakfast is delicious. guests can take advantage of the nearby eateries for a tasty meal.
While the town offers a range of dining options, some may find the choices limited compared to other towns in the area.

The location of the hotel was perfect for our romantic escape. It was situated near some amazing wineries, allowing us to easily explore and indulge in wine tastings. the breathtaking views from our room were an added bonus, with beautiful scenery of the vineyards and rolling hills. the breakfast provided at the hotel was absolutely delicious, offering a wide variety of options that satisfied our taste buds.
The cleanliness of the bathroom was not up to par. There was a strange smell lingering in the bathroom, which made it less enjoyable to use.

The location of the hotel was super convenient, just a stone's throw away from the vibrant village square. We had a blast exploring the rich cultural activities in Briones and checking out the surrounding wineyards. Plus, there were awesome bars and tapas places nearby where we could hang out and enjoy the delicious local Rioja. Highly recommended for a fun-filled getaway with friends!
If I had to pick one thing, it would be that we wished there were more late-night party options for young people in Briones. We had a great time during the day, but it would have been even more amazing if there were some happening nightclubs or events for us to let loose and dance the night away.

I always stay here when I visit. The staff is helpful, even recommended where to exchange currency! It has everything I need: free Wi-Fi, restaurant, laundry, and a seasonal pool. Perfect for my business trips.

It had all the cultural stuff you'd expect, like cool museums and historic buildings. Plus, the wine scene was lit! We hit up Vivanco Winery and it was off the chain. The wine tastings were so fly, and we got to learn all about the vino making process. Definitely a dope spot for wine enthusiasts like us!
The only thing we wished for was more nightlife options for us young party animals. Briones was more chill and laid back, which is cool for families and older peeps.

On our road trip through Spain, we chose Los Calaos to spend a few days in La Rioja. Luckily, we got one of the rooms directly above the restaurant with a great view over the Ebro valley - simply amazing! The owners of the hotel were exceptionally kind and always helpful. For a small surcharge, there was a very tasty breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, and various pastries as well as coffee. Also, the food in the restaurant is highly recommended for dinner. A great experience in a perfectly pretty medieval town with a view of La Rioja vineyards. Rooms were tastefully decorated and successfully combined the old look of the town with a modern, loft-like design. The 4 EUR breakfast was enormous, delicious, and home-cooked. Would recommend the hotel to anyone.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

I have to say, I got amazing value for my money at Los Calaos. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had the most breathtaking view of the La Rioja countryside. The location was perfect, nestled within a citadel with panoramic views of the Rioja plain. And the staff treated me like royalty, always going above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect.
Hotel breakfast could have been better with a wider variety of options.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, and reasonable prices. We enjoyed a flavorful salad with shrimp and Iberian ham, followed by tasty lamb kidneys with garlic sauce. My steak was nicely prepared, although not aged beef. The restaurant, located in an ancient wine cellar, had a fantastic wine list and knowledgeable staff. The Vivanco winery and Museum of Wine nearby are definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend this charming hotel.
